Violet Mae Kline Biebel

Violet Mae Kline Biebel, 85, of Stratford, died Oct. 10, at home, surrounded by three generations of her family.

Daughter of the late Ruth (Hartman) and John Kline, she was born May 28, 1927 in Enola, Pa.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church Choir where she spent many hours singing her favorite hymns. She loved sharing stories of her volunteer services on the roof of a bank building in downtown Bridgeport spotting for enemy aircraft during WWII.

Violet married the love of her life Frederick K. Biebel on June 2, 1951. They spent an amazing 58 years together.

Violet was a former employee of Chance Vought, and D.M. Read Department Store, as well as the former owner of Whistle Stop Antiques housed in the Stratford Railroad Station. She was an active member of the Lordship Community Church.

Violet enjoyed antiquing, sewing and gardening, but her greatest passion was caring for her family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Violet was the glue that held the family together and she created a bond that can never be broken.

She had been predeceased by her parents Ruth & John Kline, and her husband Frederick K. Biebel Jr.

Violet is survived by her son Kevin F. Biebel and his wife, Yvonne of New Milford; two daughters, Karen Biebel Sutera and her husband James of Stratford and Kyle B. Knapp of Stratford; one brother, Timothy Kline and his wife, Joan, of Fairfield; eight grandchildren, James F. Wiltsie and his wife Amy of Stratford, Jennifer Pjatak and her husband, Tom of Shelton, Jaime Farrell and her husband Dan of Naugatuck, Bruce Knapp and Frederick Knapp of Stratford, Mark Velez, and Javier Velez of New Milford, Amy Montarsio and her husband Matt of Stratford and Stephen Sutera of West Haven. She will be greatly missed by her eight great grandchildren, Kayla, Tyler, Ryann, Raegan, Jack, Payton, Miles, and Elise, and many nieces and nephews.
