Joseph J. Geffert, Sr., age 77, of Shelton, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at his home with his loving family by his side. He is the beloved husband of Ann Marie Geffert. Joseph was born in Jeansville, PA on July 25, 1934, son of the late Joseph P. and Mary (Dayock) Geffert, and was a resident of Shelton for over 48 years. He was employed at Industrial Scale, Crane and Conveyor in Bridgeport for over 40 years, building and repairing equipment. Joseph was an active member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. His greatest joy in life was watching his grandchildren at their sporting events and activities. Also Music and Theater was a big part of Joe and Ann Marie\u2019s life. He is the beloved father of Joseph J. Geffert, Jr. and his wife Mary, James J. Geffert and his wife Rhonda, loving grandfather of Zachary, Raeanne, Jenna, Michaela and Piper, who lovingly called him Zebo. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert Geffert, William Geffert, Mary Ellen Mangione and Kathleen Scinto and several nieces and nephews. Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Friday from 4 to 7 PM. On Saturday his funeral service will leave the funeral home at 8:15 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Lawrence\u2019s Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Shelton. Burial will follow at Lawn Cemetery in Shelton.
