Agnes Cecelia Shortt Georgia, 94, of Shelton, died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Georgia. Agnes was born in Southbury, December 6, 1919, a daughter of the late Henry Shortt and Mary O\u2019Neil Shortt. She was a registered nurse and a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church. She is survived by her sons, William L. Georgia and his wife Marlene of Roxbury and Rev. John J. Georgia of Wallingford; her daughters, Mary Young and her husband Lewis and Dee Amrich and her husband Andy, all of Shelton; her grandchildren, William L. and Garret Georgia, Kristen, Lauren and Briana Young, and Andrew and Jessica Amrich; her brother, Edward Shortt and his wife Ellen of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jack and James Shortt; and her sisters, Helen Tessier and Eleanor Shortt. Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton, Tuesday, July 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. from the funeral home when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Southbury.
