Frank Baranowsky Sr., 91, of Shelton, worked as a carpenter in private construction and for the State of CT at the former Laurel Heights and Fairfield Hills Hospitals, husband of the late Helen Plaskon Baranowsky, died Nov. 23, at Shady Knoll Health Center, Seymour. \u00a0 Born in Shelton, on Nov. 14, 1925, son of the late Theodore and Anastazia Kolodiychyk \u00a0Baranowsky; decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II. \u00a0 Survived by daughters, Janet (Peter) Hershman and Sharon (Nicholas) Biela Filipowich; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Also predeceased by son, Frank Baranowsky Jr., daughter, Arlene Baranowsky Kaleta; brothers, Nicholas and Peter Baranowsky, and sisters, Mary Samoska, Anne Cassidy, Stephania Snell, and Esther Diasio. Services: Tuesday, Nov. 29, 9 a.m., Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, and 10 a.m., Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Avenue, Ansonia.
