Paul J. \u201cBud\u201d Murray, age 89, of Shelton passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. He was the devoted husband of Florence (Coudert) Murray. Paul was born in Pittsfield, MA on February 29, 1924 son of the late Walter L. and Mary A. (Hall) Murray and has been a Shelton resident for the past 42 years. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II having served all over the world on the ammunition ship, USS Nitro as a radio operator. Paul was a manager for General Electric for 37 years, retiring in 1986. He was a ham radio operator and was licensed for the American Radio Relay. Music was a big part of his life and he played the trombone for the large orchestra band, \u201cStar Dusters.\u201d His band performed in many charity events. Paul was the loving father of Paul J. Murray (Cara), Peter J. Murray (Nancy) and Janice Flynn. He also leaves nine cherished grandchildren, Mathieu Johnson, George Mosessian, William, and Vincent Flynn, Ryan, Corin, Jeffrey, Dana, and Tyler Murray and his great-grandson Braden. He also leaves \u00a0his brothers, William K. and Kevin Murray and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Joanne Mosessian, son-in-law, William P. Flynn, brother, John Murray and sisters, Margaret Knight, Barbara Stack, Constance Brandon, Priscilla Pipp and Hope Cimini. Friends may call on Monday evening from 5 -7pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton, CT. On Tuesday, friends can meet directly at St. Lawrence Church 505 Shelton Ave. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am. Burial is private.
