Shelton police: Woman stabbed boyfriend during fight
SHELTON — An Ansonia woman has been accused of punching her boyfriend’s window and stabbing him in the stomach Saturday, police said.
Shelton police said they were notified of the incident when personnel from Griffin Hospital called them about a man with a stab wound to the abdomen.
Officers responded and spoke to the victim, who told investigators he was in a fight with his 28-year-old girlfriend, Princess Shabazz, when she punched his window, breaking the glass, police said.
“He then stated that she picked up a folding knife and stabbed him in the abdomen,” police said. “The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.”
Police tracked down Shabazz and took her into custody. She was charged with first-degree assault, disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal mischief.
She was held on a $10,000 bond. She’s scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
