Below are the official results of the Aug. 12 Republican primary in Shelton, as submitted to the Secretary of the State’s office.
Turnout in Shelton was about 25%, according to Republican Registrar Peter Pavone. The local turnout was higher than it was statewide, helped in part by a local state representative primary and having a Shelton resident on the ballot for statewide office (Angel Cadena for comptroller).

On a statewide basis, Tom Foley won the primary for governor, Heather Somers won for lieutenant governor, and Sharon J. McLaughlin was victorious for comptroller.
In the 122nd House District, Ben McGorty of Shelton won the overall race. The district includes parts of Shelton, Stratford and Trumbull.
