Basketball: Fitzgerald Construction stays hot

Fitzgerald Construction won twice in Week 6 action in the Shelton Men's Basketball League to up their record to 5-1.

Brandon Prutting scored 21 points to lead them to a 78-68 victory over the Mad Dogs. Nick Petro had 16 points in defeat.

Fitzgerald also defeated The Buds 76-69 behind 18 points each from Nick Corkery and Bobby Holmes. Rashon Reid and Harrison Tonne each had 17 points for The Buds.

In other "A" Division action, Valley Roofing defeated CDW 68-63 as John Ribas erupted for 43 points. Julian Durante scored 15 for CDW.

Kyle's Tile whipped Uptempo 78-37 as Jeff Putnick and Austin Gagner scored 24 and 20 points respectively. Matt Dzubina had 21 for Uptempo.

Colony Grill slipped by Kyle's 51-48 as Justin Pereiras sizzled for 32 points. Jeff Putnick had 14 for the Tilemen.

The Mad Dogs claimed a 2-0 win over Uptempo by forfeit.

In "Over 30" action, Cahill Law moved to 5-1 with a 39-29 win over BUYF. Rich Kopec had 12 for Cahill and Fred Turco and Ralph Mallozzi each had 10 for BUYF

Critical Entertainment also moved to 5-1 with a 58-34 win over MPL. James Kirby paced the winners with 12 and Dave Lazar had 12 for MPL.

KFC whipped Zamba Graphics 53-27 with Doug Pitcher scoring 13 for KFC. Ed Kochiss was best for Zamba.
