Basketball: Men’s basketball playoffs underway

Week 15 saw the conclusion of regular season action and the opening round of playoffs in the B Division of the Shelton Men’s Basketball League.

In the final night of regular-season action in the B Division, KFC secured a tie for the top spot and the No. 1 seed with a 46-20 win over Blanchette’s.

Doug Pitcher and Mo Martin were high scorers for KFC with 14 points each and Centry Gamble had eight for Blanchette’s.

Cahill Law grabbed the second seed with a 48-36 win over Zamba Graphics behind Mark Belade’s 13 points. Mike Hart had 14 points for Zamba.

Total Comfort garnered a 54-27 win over Danny O’s, as James Kirby had 21 points to lead them. Dave Lazar had 10 points for Danny O’s.

The final night of A Division action saw CDW defeat Uptempo 55-42. Rick Allain paced CDW with 13 points and Matt Todice had 13 for Uptempo. Valley Roofing whipped Artan’s Pizza 87-52, as Greg DeSantis had 23 points and Moyan Henry 21 to lead the Roofers. John Rullan and Dale Robinson were best for Artan’s with 19 and 18 points, respectively.

In the first round of the B Division playoffs, neither contest was ever in doubt. Zamba Graphics rolled over Danny O’s 60-35 behind 14 points from John Coniglio. Lazar had a game-high 15 for Danny O’s. In the other game, Total comfort blew out Blanchette’s 52-25, as Kirby had 15 points and Calvin Teal 14 for the victors. Gamble and Mike Julian each had nine for Blanchette’s.
