The Shelton High boys basketball team is seeded No. 23 in the Class LL state tournament and will tangle with No. 11 seed Norwalk High on the road on Monday night at 7 p.m.
The winner will face either No. 7 Crosby High of Waterbury (16-4) or No. 26 Ridgefield High (9-11) on March 11 in the second round.
Norwalk (17-4) is led by 6-foot-6 senior standout Roy Kane Jr., a first-team All-FCIAC selection who recently put together a 42-point, 26-rebound performance in a loss to Bassick High of Bridgeport.
“We’re going to be playing Norwalk,” Shelton High head coach Brian Gardiner said. “We know what they have... Our guys compete hard, they have no fear. At some point, we are going to get one of these good teams.”
