Boys soccer: Shelton falls to Hand

The Shelton High boys soccer team lost a non-league showdown to unbeaten Daniel Hand of Madison.

The Gaels struck first midway through the 2nd as Ryan Smith's shot rebounded off the goalie to Kyle Gill at the top of the box who put it in the back of the net.

Hand answered back with a goal off of a corner by Drew Montgomery. Alex Cinicolo scored on a penalty shot with 9 minutes left in the game.

Shelton applied pressure in the final minutes but were unable to capitalize.

The Gaels record is 8-5-1 and face Branford on Saturday night at home.
