Eight Shelton swimmers compete at Class L championships

Ryan Ouloul, Charlie Mozdzer, Ben Rhodes, Jason Kim, Shane Colligan, Silviu Raducan, Jai Goel and Jack Parkes from Shelton competed at the Class L Swim Championships in West Hartford.

Shelton sent eight swimmers to the Class L state championships.

Jai Goel, Jason Kim, Jack Parkes and Ryan Ouloul placed 15th in the 200-freestyle relay with a time of 1:37.54 for coach Tom Jurzynski.

Shane Colligan, Kim, Ben Rhodes and Parkes placed 17th in the 200-medley relay in 1:54.53, nearly four seconds better than their seed time.

Sophomore Jason Kim took 20th in the 100-breaststroke in 1:07.82.

Ouloul swam a 1:58.07 when the junior placed 23rd in the 200-freestyle.

A senior, Goel was 27th in the 100-freestyle (51.45).
