Free basketball clinic to benefit Food Bank
Shelton head basketball coaches Brian Gardiner (boys) and Joe Cavallaro (girls), along with their coaching staffs, team captains and varsity players will host a free basketball shooting clinic at the Shelton High gym on Monday, Jan. 20, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, from 10 to 11 a.m.
Those grades 1-8 attending will be taught proper fundamentals for shooting and scoring. They will take part in shooting drills, the use of shooting machine, and receive individual attention.
This is a great opportunity to get great instruction, have some fun, and at a very reasonable cost (free).
At the same time, in partnership with Shelton Athletic Department, the Shelton basketball teams will be conducting a Food Drive to benefit the Shelton High School Food Bank in Shelton.
Each clinic participant is being asked to donate a few non-perishable food items (see the list below) as they enter the clinic. Donations will be collected in the lobby at Shelton High.
List of items needed for the food bank: boxes instant potatoes; packages of gravy; box/bag stuffing; cans of vegetables; pie crust mix; pie filling; cans of cranberry sauce; jar of pickles; cans of olives; can evaporated milk; coffee; tea; powdered juice mix; canned fruit; napkins; sugar; brownie mix; corn bread mix.
