Girls soccer: Panek gets Shelton late draw vs. Amity

Kaleigh Panek scored two goals, the second in the 75th minute, as Shelton High turned over a pair of deficits to draw Amity, 2-2, on Wednesday afternoon in Woodbridge.

Panek netted her first goal in the 41st minute, pulling Shelton even in the opening minute of the second half, before Alexa Gibbs restored Amity's lead 10 seconds later off the restart.

Shelton (0-0-2) then tied it on Panek's second goal with five minutes left. Juliane Niedzwiecki, Sarah Skoronski and Kathryn Arena had assists for the Gaelettes.

Kaylee Huber scored the first goal of the game for Amity (1-0-2) in the 16th minute.

Courtney Litts made three saves for Shelton in net and Shelby Offord came on in the second half to make three stops.

Abbey Allen had six saves for Shelton, which held a 15-14 edge in shots.
