The Shelton High girls volleyball team saw its spirited rally fall short against Cheshire High, as the Rams pulled out a 3-2 (25-20, 18-25, 24-26, 23-25, 15-3) victory.

Grace Tokarski paced Shelton with 35 assists, eight digs and two aces, Mackenzie Bures had nine kills, 16 digs and two blocks and Samantha Stevens had 15 kills and six digs.

For Cheshire, Molly Michaud had six aces, 12 kills and seven blocks, Brady McQuade had nine kills and Kellie Phipps had one ace, two kills and 31 assists.

Cheshire improved to 8-2, while Shelton dropped to 7-5.
