Men's basketball: Ribas powers Valley Roofing

John Ribas sizzled for 40 points as Valley Roofing cruised to victory over Uptempo in the opening week of action in the Shelton Men’s Basketball League.

Five players scored in double figure, as The Roofers won 101-53. Matt Todice had 16 points for Uptempo.

In other A Division games, Kyle’s Tile outlasted The Mad Dogs, 69-54, as Al Torrens and Austin Gagner each had 20 points for the winners. Nick Petro had a game-high 29 in a losing cause.

Fitzgerald Construction won its opener, 78-52, over CDW as Christian Pierre paced a balanced attack with 17 points. Jordan Singleton was best for CDW with 22 points.

In the Over 30 Division, defending champion Cahill Law defeated BUYF, as Joe Martino scored 21 points. Ralph Mallozzi had 17 in defeat.

Creative Entertainment cruised to an impressive win over MPL, 50-27. Eric Kramer was high man with 13 points for the victors while Jim Karcher had eight points for MPL.

Zamba Graphics opened its season with a hard-fought 58-48 victory over KFC. John Coniglio had 16 points for the Tilemen and Frank Skoronski paced KFC with 14.
