Over the Edge to benefit SOCT

Over the Edge to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut is coming to Stamford on Thursday, Sept. 12.

This event will give brave souls with big hearts the chance to rappel down 101 Park Place at Harbor Point for the thrill of it and to support local Special Olympics athletes.

The 101 Park Place building is located at 101 Washington Boulevard, Stamford.

To register and find out more, go to www.soct.org and click on the Over the Edge logo, call 203- 230-1201 ext. 270 or email sarahb@soct.org. Spectators are welcome.

The event will kick-off at 9 a.m. and run throughout the day. Pre-registration is required, and will give participants an opportunity to create a personal fund-raising page so that their friends, family members and colleagues can “sponsor” them easily and securely. Participants will receive a t-shirt and photo of themselves in action.

No experience is necessary.

An introductory class will be held on the day of the event. It’s safe, exciting and for a good cause.

The event is being held to boost awareness about Special Olympics, raise funds for its year-round programs and inspire inclusion and respect for people of all abilities.

Throughout the year, Special Olympics athletes demonstrate courage on the playing field as they train and compete in sports, strive to achieve personal goals and realize their potential.

Participating in Over the Edge provides individuals with the opportunity to demonstrate courage and go to new heights to support these brave athletes.

The host site, Harbor Point, is Stamford’s newest mixed-use transit-oriented neighborhood that includes residential, commercial, and retail properties, along with several marinas, and acres of parks. For more information, visit harborpt.com.
