Shelton Youth Football raises funds
Shelton Youth Football recently donated $1,300 to the Valley Goes Pink Campaign.
Players, cheerleaders, coaches and parents raised the funds by holding a Pink Day in October which featured sales of baked goods, league apparel and footballs.
The Valley Goes Pink is a grassroots, community-wide effort in the Lower Naugatuck Valley to increase awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection, support the Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital, and to celebrate the charitable spirit of the region’s businesses and organizations.
Groups throughout the Valley hosted events throughout October to raise money for breast cancer screening services at The Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness.
