David G. Whitham / For Hearst Connecticut MediaAudrey Kozak set records in the high jump when the Shelton girls placed fourth at the Southern Connecticut Conference Indoor Track Championships at Floyd Little Athletic Center on Sunday.
Kozak of Shelton won the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 4 inches to set a school record and tie the SCC meet record.
“I was very excited to get that height, something I’ve been focusing on this season,” Kozak said. “I was really determined to get there today.”
Malaikah Johnson, LeAnn Francios, Taylor Ostrosky and Greta Parkes placed third in the 1600 sprint medley relay with a time of 4:39.85.
Kozak finished fourth in the 55-meter dash in 7.6 seconds.
Shelton with 39 points placed behind team champion Sheehan 104, Hillhouse 47 and Cheshire 40.
Boys meet
Aidan O’Grady placed third in the 1000-meter run in 2:44.50.
Caleb Ranger took third in the long jump at 19-10.50 feet.
Shelton with a score of 23 placed sixth. Xavier 104 won the title. Hillhouse 65 was second, Amity 64 third, Wilbur Cross 49 fourth and Jonathan Law 34 fifth.
