Softball: Rossetti on tear at the plate
All-New England Region senior first baseman Sam Rossetti from Shelton raised her batting average to .528 with four hits, including her first home run of the year in the opener, to pace the Eastern Connecticut State University softball team to an 8-1, 13-1 non-conference doubleheader sweep of Trinity College Tuesday at the Eastern Softball Stadium. The second game was stopped after five innings.

And sophomore righty Samantha Valentine (Ridge, NY) pitched a complete-game five-hitter with five strikeouts in the nightcap.
