Joe Staurovsky, a Shelton resident and retired Connecticut state trooper, is in his first year racing in the Trans Am Series in the TA2 Class — fulfilling a childhood dream.
Racing a 2013 Chevy Camaro built by Howe Racing Enterprises, he competed in the Foametix Trans Am 100 at Sebring International in Sebring, Fla. on March 1, finishing 51st out of a field of 67, after starting at No. 62 position.
Staurovsky also raced in The Next Dimension 100 at Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, Conn. on May 23, finishing 19th out of a field of 23 after starting 21st.
