Susan Porto, Audrey Kozak lead Shelton at SCC meet

Susan Porto won the pole vault and Audrey Kozak took first in the high jump and the long jump when Shelton took part in the SCC Girls Developmental Meet #2 at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven on Jan. 3.

Porto’s vault of 8-06 feet was meet best for the junior.

Kozak high jumped 5-02 feet to take first. Gianna Bacoulis was seventh (4-04), and Hailey Frischstein 13th (4-02).

Kozak’s long jump of 15-10.5 feet gave the junior the top spot. Olivia Marino long-jumped 13010.25, Jahneil Marshall 12-11.75, Porto 12-0.50, and Sheniqua Remy 10-00.50.

Adriana Franzese earned third in the 1600-meter run as the senior finished in 5:38.15. Emily Vasser ran 6:27.17, and Summer Spinelli 6:59.36.

Kaelyn Horn, Nina Turski, LeAnn Francois and Greta Parkes placed seventh in the 4x400 relay in 4:46.95. The B team of Hartley Ferro, Victoria Lysik, Frischstein and Edyn Sherman were 18th (5:32.36).

Taking seventh in the 1600-sprint medley relay were Kosak, Annelyse Sherman, Taylor Ostrosky and Mia Chen with a time of 4:44.47. Horn, Malaikah Johnson, Turski and Vasser were 10th in 5:06.17.

Johnson placed eighth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 8.08 seconds. Annelyse Sherman finished in 8.34, Horn 8.35, Marshall 8.40, Olivia Salluhi 8.42, Anaiah-Romayne Fontaine 8.55, Porto 8.65, Edyn Sherman 8.72, Maggie Lupa 8.97, Lysik 8.97, Marianna Gaza 8.98, Diara Navarro 9.03, Olivia Jensen 9.19, Hanna Barron 9.55, Maya Gambel 9.70, and Ferro 9.74.

Salluhi took eighth in the 55-meter hurdles when the senior finished in 10.68 seconds. Bacoulis was 10th in 10.84. Marino was next for Shelton in 11.24, followed by Remy 11.87.

Ostrosky finished ninth in the 300-meter dash in 46.31. Chen ran 47.64, Marino 50.78, Lupa 52.35, Gaza 53.98, Kristina Bratz 55.36, Navarro 56.52, Fontaine 57.59, Barron 57.96, and Gambel 1:02.21.

Carinna Anastasio took 11th with a shot put of 26-03.00 feet, followed by Remy 22-02.00.
