The Shelton High volleyball needs to win its final three regular season games to qualify for the CIAC state tournament.

A tall order for a team that won just one game in the last 11 times on the court.

On Wednesday in Shelton, the Gaelettes showed what they are made of as they got by a 9-5 Lyman Hall squad by a 3-1 margin.

The game scores were 25-15, 17-25, 25-18 and 25-22.

Shelton will face its biggest test in the seasons final stretch on Friday when they travel to Cheshire to take on the 13-1 Rams. That match up will be followed by a home game on Monday against Hand and a final regular season game at Wilbur Cross.

A complete game account of the Lyman Hall game will appear in next week's Herald.
