The Shelton High wrestling team went on the road and defeated non-league rival Stratford High 39-37 on Dec. 23.

Chandler Duhaime got coach Bill Maloney’s Gaels on the board with pin in the 113-pound match.

Scott Plucenik’s pin at 126 and Kyle McGinnis’ win by fall at 138 put Shelton in front, 15-9.

Jake Litts (145) and Delonne Sloan (152) scored falls and Dan Persson a 7-5 decision to give the Gaels a 33-11 advantage.

Stratford scored five straight wins, four by pins, before Andrew Cordes was awarded a foerfeit at 106 pounds to close out Shelton’s second consecutive victory to start the season.
