Southern Connecticut Conference honors best athletes
Athletes from Milford’s three high schools in the Southern Connecticut Conference earned fall postseason laurels when all-conference teams and player/coaches of the year for boys/girls cross country, boys/girls soccer, field hockey, girls volleyball, girls swimming and diving and football were released.
Jonathan Law’s Katie Konareski was All-SCC for girls cross country.
Leah Cogguillo out of Lauralton Hall was first-team in field hockey. Julia Arsenault was a second-team selection.
Lauralton’s Molly Rotondo was first team and Law’s Jillian Hall and Jocelyn Wirth earned spots on the All-SCC girls soccer second team.
Foran High’s Caleb Tondora was first team All-SCC and Law’s Troy Anderson was a second-team choice in boys soccer.
In girls volleyball, Law’s Katie Eighmy and Pam Ellison joined Lauralton’s Theresa Piscitelli as second-team selections.
In girls swimming and diving, Law coach Molly Anderson was chosen Division II coach of the year.
Earning berths on the as All-SCC performers were Lauralton’s Claire Kehley in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle, Foran’s Jordan MacDonald in the 100-yard butterfly and Vivian Freitas from Lauralton in the 100-yard backstroke.
Foran’s Justin DeEll (linebacker) was named to the SCC Tier 2 football team.
Law’s Mike Plaskon (running back), Ethan Saley (wide receiver), Zach Merchant (tight end), Mike Becker (linebacker) and Austin Danville (linebacker) were Tier 3 football selections.
