The Shelton High wrestling team picked up its first victory over Daniel Hand of Madison in its history on Wednesday night at Murray Gymnasium, 34-33.

Heavyweight Jose Nieves clinched the dual meet with a pin in 3:53. Hand was also deducted one team point for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Shelton improved to 16-2 overall (4-0 SCC, 1-0 SCC A).
