The Shelton High boys team tied for 13th at the Class LL Indoor Track Championships in New Haven on Feb. 8. Danbury High was team champion. Thomas Kane was third in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.68, .07 behind co-winners Austin Longi from Greenwich and Shnyden Pierre from Brien McMahon of Norwalk. Kane, Mike Pingree, Mike Ficano and Kevin Block were fourth in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:36.60. Seth Shuster, Kristian Schif, Joe Edelstein and Austin Kothary were fifth in the 4x800 meter relay in 8:31.53. Jacob Grosso was seventh in the shot put with a throw of 44-06. Placing eighth in the 4x400 meter relay (3:39.08) were Kothary, Wesley Kocurek, Shuster and Block. Kane, Pingree, Kocurek and Kothary were ninth in the 1600 spring medley (3:52.61). Liam Fama was seventh in 2:43.57 and Dylan Smith eighth in 2:45.21 in the 1000 meter run. Block was ninth in the 300 meter dash (38.06), Shuster was 14th in the 600 meter run (1:31.63), Christopher Carew was 16th in the long jump (18-09.25) Edelstein was 21st in the 3200 meter run (10:18.79) and Jostin Cobb was 24th in the long jump (18-01).
