Rapids swim at International Classic

Shelton-Monroe Rapids Seniors coach Dan Zeek traveled with four local swimmers to Florida to compete in the Swim Fort Lauderdale International Classic held June 21-24 at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex.

The Rapids swimmers that participated were (l-r) Ally Noccioli, Simona Visinski, Gracie Gustinis and Michael Riina.

Awards were given to swimmers placing in the top 10.

Noccioli came in seventh place for the 11/12 division in 100 breaststroke.

Also at 11/12, Visinski came in first in the 50 freestyle, third in the 50 breaststroke, fourth in the 50 backstroke, fifth in the 400 freestyle, and took eighth in the 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley.

Gustinis placed seventh in the Women’s Open 200 backstroke.

In the 11/12 division, she came in third in the 50 and 100 backstroke, fourth in the 400 freestyle, fifth in the 200 individual medley and 10th in the 200 freestyle.

In the 13/14 division, Riina came in 10th in the 200 breaststroke.

The team placed 22nd out of the 44 international teams that participated.
