Ospreys have returned to Connecticut for the nesting season. If trends continue, well over 400 pairs will successfully raise young birds here and send them on their way in 2018.
To encourage donations for its continuing conservation work, the Connecticut Audubon Society plans to mail an appeal letter in mid-November and another in mid-December, as well as send fund-raising emails over the last six weeks of the year.
Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Fairfield, 2325 Burr Street offers a Master Naturalist Training Program on Tuesdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 5-Nov. 7, and Saturday, Sept. 30.
The 2017 Audubon Connecticut Environmental Leadership Awards Benefit, Experience Nature! will be held on Wednesday, April 12, from 6-11 p.m., at The Belle Haven Club.
