The Little Mermen will be taking Nutmeggers "under the sea" when they perform at Norwalk's Wall Street Theater on Feb. 5.

The tribute band specializes in covers of Disney songs from over 80 years of movies, like "The Little Mermaid," "Aladdin," "Beauty and the Beast," "Jungle Book," "Mary Poppins," "Frozen" and "Encanto." While performing, the group dresses up as the characters from those films.

"It is kind of like a wholesome rock concert," said Alexis Babini, the band's founder and frontman. "We're...combining the magic of going to Disney and seeing your favorite Disney movie with going to a concert and seeing your favorite bands. There's costumes and all these shenanigans, like bubbles."

Babini, who is from Easton, founded the band around nine years ago intending to perform one show raising money for Musicians on Call — a charity that brings music to hospital patients  — in Webster Hall in New York. An overwhelmingly positive response from concert-goers gave Babini the motivation to make the group permanent.

The band has shared festival stages with  acts like Stevie Nicks, Green Day and Joan Jett. The Little Mermen has also got recognition from composer Alan Menken, who worked on the music for Disney films like "The Little Mermaid," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin," according to the band's website.

Other band members include vocalist Carly Kincannon (known for NBC's "The Sing Off"), vocalist Chelsea Zeno (known for playing Cynthia in Broadway's "Priscilla Queen of the Desert"), drummer Cody Rahn (known for the YouTube show "Sounds Like a Drum"), keyboard player Ryan Slatko and base player Andrew Grau.

"I feel lucky to be able to surround myself with this level of musicianship," Babini said. "Believe me, these guys can rock. This is a really talented band, I'm looking forward to getting the chance to finally bring them to Connecticut."

Babini said performing at the Wall Street Theater is a "dream come true." He enjoys the Connecticut music scene because many other tribute bands, like "Almost Queen" and "Lez Zeppelin," come to the state to perform.

"I just love tribute bands. We've gotten to meet so many tribute bands this summer on tour, so many great songs, such a cool world," Babini said.

The band will also be making other stops in the tri-state area, including the House Of Independents in New Jersey on Jan. 6 and City Winery NYC on Feb. 4, according to the band's website

The band performs at private events like children's birthday parties and weddings. While the show in Norwalk is "family-friendly," the band also performs "Disney after dark"  shows more tailored to an adult audience.

Tickets for the show are on sale for prices ranging from $20 to $39.
