The Connecticut Renaissance Faire opened this month, preparing to transport patrons back in time to a 16th century festival full of costumes, food and more. The faire, which opens Sep. 3 in Lebanon, is celebrating its 24th anniversary of recreating a 1700s marketplace in Connecticut.
The first Connecticut Renaissance Faire was celebrated in 1999 behind the King's Inn in Putnam. As the event grew more popular over the years, it moved to Woodstock, Hebron and North Haven until it found its current home in the Lebanon Fairgrounds.
