Those seeking relief from the sweltering temperatures will be discouraged: The heat is expected to continue in Connecticut into early next week, according to the National Weather Service. A heat advisory will continue until 8 p.m. Friday. The weather service warned of maximum heat index values ranging from the mid-90s to around 100 throughout the day. Residents will get some reprieve Saturday as the maximum heat index values dip into the low 90s, but they\u2019ll possibly increase again into the middle and upper 90s on Sunday and into early next week, according to the weather service in a bulletin Thursday afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms are possible Friday afternoon and into the night, bringing the risk of localized flash flooding. This risk may continue on Saturday as additional showers and thunderstorms may occur. The weather service said additional heat advisories may be issued Sunday and into early next week.
